Wonders of the Word" Pt 1

May 3, 2026    Pastor Jason Dennett

This teaching takes us deep into Mark chapter 4, exploring what can be called the 'wonders of the Word'—truths about Scripture that far surpass any ancient architectural marvel. We're invited to examine three critical aspects of God's Word: illumination, multiplication, and contamination. The message challenges us to consider how we respond when God speaks to us. Are we merely curious observers, casual participants, or committed followers? Jesus uses the image of a lamp to remind us that we're meant to shine, not hide our light under a basket. The teaching emphasizes a powerful principle of faithfulness: when we treasure what God reveals to us, when we write it down, meditate on it, and apply it to our lives, more will be given to us. This isn't about earning God's love—it's about stewardship. When we show ourselves faithful with the spiritual insights God provides, He trusts us with deeper revelation. The contrast is sobering: those who treat God's Word casually will find even what little understanding they have slipping away. We're called to examine our hearts—do we value the golden book that has come down from heaven, or does it gather dust while we pursue lesser things? The teaching reminds us that success in God's kingdom isn't measured by worldly standards of wealth, power, or fame, but by faithfulness. Are we good stewards of the truth God has entrusted to us?
