"Geneis 10-11"

May 13, 2026    Pastor Dan Crespo

This powerful teaching takes us on a journey from Genesis to Revelation, tracing the origins and ultimate fate of two competing kingdoms: the kingdom of God and the kingdom of darkness. Beginning with Nimrod in Genesis 10, we discover the first human empire built on rebellion against God in the land of Shinar—ancient Babylon. This wasn't just about building a city; it was about humanity's attempt to make a name for themselves, to reach heaven through their own efforts, and to find security apart from trusting God. The Tower of Babel represents more than linguistic confusion—it reveals the heart of human pride and self-sufficiency. What makes this study particularly striking is how it connects this ancient rebellion to our present reality. The Babylonian system didn't disappear; it evolved into a global network of commerce, power, and spiritual deception that Scripture calls 'Mystery Babylon.' We're challenged to examine where we place our trust: in the almighty dollar or the Almighty God. Jesus himself declared that no one can serve two masters—we cannot serve both God and mammon. The apostle Paul identifies covetousness as idolatry, revealing that our relationship with money and material security is fundamentally a spiritual issue. As we trace this thread through Daniel's prophetic visions and into Revelation's dramatic conclusion, we see that God will ultimately destroy every kingdom built on human pride and self-reliance. The question we must each answer is: which kingdom are we building, and which king are we serving?
