Agape Dinners
"and they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine, and in fellowship, and in the breaking of bread, and in prayers." Acts 2:42
Agape dinners are a special time the church gathers to break bread together. Whoever can, brings a dish to pass and we all enjoy the food that the Lord has provided. After dinner we spend some time worshipping the Lord in song and later we either share from the Word or hear a testimony. Agape dinners are open to the whole body. These are times of sweet fellowship as we get to know one another and allow the Lord to knit us together in love. Locations and times will be announced in the church bulletin well in advance.
Baptism Picnics
"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost." Matthew 28:19
The symbolic meaning of baptism is that of dying and rising again; through baptism we identify ourselves with the Lord's death, burial, and resurrection (Romans 6:3-4, Colossians 2:12). Water baptism is simply an outward expression of the saving faith that a person already possesses though Jesus. Therefore, we hold two baptism services every year. Prior to each baptism we hold a class for all of those interested in being baptized. Generally, our baptisms are held at the Luquillo Beach on Saturday afternoons and are followed by a picnic. Everyone is invited to come and share in the special time together. Locations and times will be announced in the church bulletin well in advance.
Church Retreats / conferences
We hold several retreats and conferences throughout the year. In the past we have had Calvary Chapel pastors from across the country come and share as guest speakers. Conferences are generally one day long and are held here at the church. Each one is a wonderful time to spend together in worship and looking at a topic in God's Word. Also, we generally hold two retreats throughout the year. We spend three days and get a way together with the Lord. These include several teaching sessions, time in worship, and free time to spend fellowshipping, relaxing, and seeking the Lord individually. We also share in communion together. Iit is always a blessing and refreshing time for everyone. Locations and times will be announced in the church bulletin well in advance .
White Field Crusade
In accordance with the vision of Calvary Chapel of Puerto Rico (To know Jesus Christ, and to make Him known to others), the "White Field Crusade" is an annual evangelistic outreach to the general public of San Juan. It's purpose is to present hope, love and the plan of salvation to those in attendance through the sharing of Christian music, testimonies and Biblically based messages. Times and locations of this yearly event will be announced in the church bulletin as well as on local television and radio stations well in advance.
